Damn it's been a while...

Lately,

Cage & Copywrite - Boston Crabs: Haterama 12" (Demigodz Records) 2003

^There was a time when I used to buy just about any old Hip Hop twelve. This was that time. One of those, 'why do I still have this?' records. Starts out with Celph Titled bitching about how everyone is constantly hating on him and how they can all keep hating cuz he's laughin all the way to the bank. Then the music starts and I'm thinking dude needs to put his money wear his mouth is cuz this ain't shit. He's definitely a capable producer and MC, just not on this.

Cappadonna feat Ghostface Killah - '97 Mentality 12" (Razor Sharp) 1997

^Another super cheap 12" but this one is ayite. Ghost kinda saves this one from being otherwise forgetful.

Cadence - Coming Back 12" Promo (Paperweight Records) 2006

^Not on discogs, this one I had to pry out of Metrowax's hands cuz Wade couldn't find another example online to price it. I had to wear him down but I finally got him to fold and take 10 bucks for it. It's the standard Hip Hop 12" format, 2 songs, one on each side, with the album, radio, acc, inst. Both songs don't have the best beat in the world but Cadence (RIP) is an undeniably charismatic MC and his subject matter on this makes this an invaluable twelve. I'm at the point now where I'll buy just about anything with his name on it including his older Raw Produce records.

Various - Basic Training (Boot Camp Clik's Greatest Hits) LP (Priority) 2000

^This has all the Cliks best tracks, it's one of those best-ofs that really gets to the meat and potatoes. You still gotta get all the albums, but in the meantime here's one way to get the dopest of each groups songs in one foul swoop. I see Dusty Groove has one for sale right now at 10 bones, that's well worth it.

Common - Be LP (Geffen) 2005

^I revisit this album every so often, and it never gets old. Kanye's beats were so on point on this, it's an undeniably good Common album. Just about every single song is good and IMO the song "Be" is just about as feel good as Hip Hop gets. It's so tight, I could have easily put this on JB's Productions thread, but I don't wanna overdo it on that thread, still waiting for lurkers to make some moves.

Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens LP (Sound In Color) 2012 LE

^I can't believe they are reissueing this AGAIN. Fat Beats literally just gave this the official limited vinyl treatment last year and I guess they found out they didn't press enough for the demand so they are reissueing it again. Yeah, it's a great album, but that'd make this next issue the reissue of the reissue of what was released way back in 2007.

Cypress Hill - Black Sunday LP (Ruffhouse Records) 2013 RSD Reissue

^I paid a lot for this at RSD earlier this year, but no regrets, it's so heavy, so solid and the album is a dark and blunted classic.

Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud - Do the James 7" (Mobile Mondays) 2013 RE of 1987 OG

^Brand new 7" version of this classic song. I can't even pick out the right words to describe how utterly dope this version I've never heard is. Basically, it's got an extended outro with absolutely killer cuts and juggling on it and it's easily the best version of this song that I've ever heard. I don't know where this version came from but the guys at the label "Mobile Mondays" got their hands on it and I for one am glad it was unearthed.

X-Clan - Mainstream Outlaws

The joint above is one in few really nice songs on this album. Their worst album by far if you ask me and it's a shame cause their comeback album "Return from mecca" is very good and solid album. Too bad they followed it up with this uneven effortSir Mix-a-lot - Return of the bumpasaurus

I feel you....after the 'Xodus album...:wasn't anything to follow up for like 10 years....but, still didn't (studio) come out with anything too exciting.

BUT.....

....Brother J did rock a solo/different group-effort (in '96) - Dark Sun Riders. It was/still is pretty official, to me....dope album. It really came out under the radar, at that time....no promotion at all, from what I remember (other than a (visual) Ad or two in The Source).

peace.

...listening to the Dark Sun Riders album.....((Crotchy))

Rhythmous Flex

***I'd love to get the instrumental to this joint***

Dark Sun Riders

peace.
