I actually had Nipsey Hussle's Crenshaw($100-ha!) and Ab Soul's Control System (not sure if that's the name) on rotation...however now thanks to @DJBOOMBAP(good lookin homie) Pusha T's My Name Is My Name has replaced both ...and poor Drake(NWTS) has been sitting in my hard drive for weeks now gathering dust ..maybe I'll get around to lisetening to it...someday lol

yeah - ALC has been mad busy this year on the collabo albums...Durag Dynasty, Albert Einstein (Prodigy/ALC), Boldy James, Domo Genesis. that's not even mentioning the various singles he's produced on peoples albums.

peace.

Kool G Rap & DJ Polo - On the Run 12" Promo (Cold Chillin') 1992

^Catching up on my KGR twelves. This nice promo was nice and cheap and has the untouchable clean video version of the song. Such a top notch piano sample of Ray Bryant's "Up Above the Rock".

Speaking of the video...

The sample:

Akrobatik - Hypocrite / Strictly For The DJ's 12" Promo (Coup d'État) 2002

^Forget the A-side, the B is absolutely where it's at. Such a fat beat and a great rap tribute to the DJ, at the $3 price I had to buy doubles of this.

DAS EFX - If Only 12" Promo (EastWest) 1993

^If only all Hip Hop sounded like this! I'm exaggerating, but still, wouldn't it be great? This had to be in my stacks. That bassline loves subs.

Super Chron Flight Brothers - Dirt Weed 12" (Green Streets Entertainment) 2007

^Bought it for the MF Doom beats on the A-Side. Without that beat this twelve would be ditch weed.

Madlib - Medicine Show #5 The History of the Loop Digga LP (Madlib Invazion) 2010

^Came across this one used and I figured, what the hell, ya never spot Madlib records used. Glad I copped this one it's straight up short, blunted ADD beats on the first 3 sides then some of the cooler Madlib w/ some fairly unknown rapper enhanced tracks on the 4th side.

K-Def - One Man Band EP (Redef) 2013 and Night Shift EP (Redef) 2011

^Decided to drop on "One Man Band" again since it's been a minute and I forgot how awesome it was. It reminded me to peep his other EP I had "Night Shift" which isn't nearly as good but still has a few great insts. in there that got my head nodding. I wonder how his latest album "The Exhibit" is.

Positive K ‎– Ain't No Crime 12" Promo (Island Records) 1993

^Nice and cheap Pos K single with a couple good songs. I'm not too keen on the clean version of "How The Fuck Would You Know?", WTF is the point of even having a radio version of a song like that. It's like watching the edited for television version of Pulp Fiction, somewhere in there you loose the whole point of the thing.

Akrobatik ‎– Balance LP (Coup d'État) 2003

^Not as strong as I was hoping it'd be, it's not bad but hardly worth writing about either. The few good songs on here I already had on a few 12" singles so it was kind of a letdown for me.

Screwball ‎– For DJs Only (Unofficial EP) (YTK) Unknown Year

^You gotta love these "Unofficials". I think many of them are basically bootlegs but somehow they can be called unofficial instead. Regardless, this is dope. Very dope beats from Primo with Poet spitting fire. I love this unofficial record.

PHD - I'm Flippin' 12" (Tuff City) 1992

^ Speaking of Poet, this is one of PHD's first singles. The video remix is what makes this 12" worth seeking.

Troubleneck Brothers ‎– Troubleneck Wreck 12" (StepSun Music Entertainment) 1993

^Speaking of worth seeking, find this! These guys are some seriously slept on NYC rhymers on one of the dopest singles of theirs from one of the dopest years in Hip Hop. REALLY DOPE.

Edan - Echo Party LP (Five Day Weekend) 2009

^It's been a few years since I busted out this strange but cool beat tape made by Edan a few years back. His passion for the old school and electro beats are pretty telltale from this release. You gotta be in the right mood to bump this effect-happy piece, but it's definitely solid as hell.

Jungle Brothers ‎– J. Beez Wit The Remedy LP (Warner Bros) 1993

^One of my favorite JBs albums and it's slept on big time. This one is so raw, I just love how "thown together" this sounds. A few tracks are staple joints, but a lot of it is just weird, and that's definitely my steeze.

I belong to the majority that don't really enjoy that album. The best thing off that album is the 12" 40 below trooper/on the road again which has a superior mix of the second joint. Saying this I got all jb's albums, even the last one they only released on Japan, which beats this one by a mile!

As for me, I finally picked up an album I've been waiting years on to place on my turntable:

Akinyele - Vagina diner

It's even better than I remembered. It will be on rotation for quite a while now.
