^^ tried to cop that on my lunch break today , but nobody ( locally ) has it until next week worried . Would order from Stones Throw , but my past experiences with ordering from them weren't favorable .

Tenshun & Psychopop ‎– Skrapez666 7" (Skrapez) 2011 and Tenshun & Psychopop ‎– Untitled #5 7" (Skrapez) 2008

^Received a pair of some dark Hip Hop beats sevens from JB a while back. Forgot to give it proper props. As JB stated on the previous page it's an acquired taste and I think that's right on point. Super hard crunch drums and dark vibes, it has a time and place for bumping and that's when you are alone in the house. Put these on the platter, crank it. Nod Head. Repeat.

DJ Krush - Stepping Stones The Self Remixed Best (Soundscapes) LP (Sony) 2006

^Speaking of dark Hip Hop vibes, this is along the same lines. Although much more moody and less angry than the Skrapez sevens. And frankly 10x more advanced sounding production. IMO Krush is easilly one of the best semi-slept on producers of slow moody soundscape beats and they are very polished, very rich tapestries, and on the contrary the Skrapez sevens are raw, almost homegrown sounding. Not that they are trying to compete with Krush or even ride the same line. This (soundscapes) release is all instrumental Hip Hop and perfectly remixed. I love the original versions of all of these songs and he figured out how to make them different and still recognizable. Thankfully these aren't too far from the original material.

Ghostface Killah - Ironman LP (Get on Down) 2010 RE of 1996 OG

^Filling in the "Classics I shoulda had long ago" holes. This recent reissue is a really nice, loud and heavy 2LP remaster. I think the skits on this are easilly some of the most enjoyable on any Hip Hop LP. Not that that is all that matters, but that certainly helps in this case. The beats and rhymes are dope as hell as you'd expect from an early GK LP.

DJ Rhettmatic - The Wedding Mixer V.2 2CD (mixtape) and DJ Melo D - Nightclubbing 2CD (mixtape)

^Nice!! Along with the shirt I got caught up on a few new Beat Junkies mixtapes. Their CDs are almost the only CDs I'll buy nowadays. These mixes are so flawless in every way. My wife thinks I'm crazy for liking the club mix by Melo D since it's so commercial and radio overplayed tracks, but as an ex-club DJ I get it. You gotta give the people what they want and as advertised, these are Promo Only mixes. Proving that he can step into a nightclub, forget about all the rare records and underground shit and focus on what moves asses. I'd never buy or bump many of those songs but the way he mixes it makes it an undeniably cool mix.

And as for Rhett's mixtape, I gotta say this 2CD mix is even BETTER than the insanely dope volume one which I wore out long ago. Imagine Rhettmatic as your wedding DJ, and he caters to the 70s and 80s danceable soul sound. SO MANY TIGHT CLASSICS on this I can't even begin to describe how good the throwback vibes are on this mix.
