Seems like there is a lot of divide on the issue of who was first but they were definitely early pioneers, although maybe a little too under the radar to get the "godfathers" stamp. They were definitely some of the best I've heard from that time though, no doubt. Some people say that MC5's - Kick out the Jams (MC5 is another Detroit band) deserve credit in the late 60s, others say the Stooges in the late 60s, still others wanna give the stamp to the Kinks. Death's 45s BTW go for a killing if anyone has any of those nowadays they will get paid bigtime for them online. I bumped Death again this weekend, I just can't get sick of that album.
