Yesterday...

Jimpster - Messages from the Hub LP (Kudos) 1999

^After dealing with my basement issues I decided to bust out a little downtempo. I underrated this album. It was one that sat dormant a few years and I gave it a second chance yesterday wondering why I slept on it. It's pretty good, nothing spectacular but still pretty good and a nice mood changer for me yesterday on what started to be a stressful day. Very slow and chill, almost so slow you'd swear you better put it on 45rpm but you soon realize what he's up to after a few tunes. It's downtempoed downtempo.

Philip Cohran and the Artistic Heritage Ensemble - On the Beach LP (Aestuarium Records) OG 1967 RE 2006

^Ex Archestra dude from Sun Ra's crew drops one of his truly wonderful jazz records. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is one of the best Jazz albums I own. Unlike Sun Ra, this is eclectic and sane. No crazy over the top banging on instruments, straight up fusion. This guy's records go for hundreds sometimes. I see now that this reissue I have is already selling for 48 bucks at discogs, so even the reissues fetch a lot nowadays. This is the only solo work I have from this guy, but I learned from this that I should definitely keep an eye out for all his stuff.

Erikah Badu - New Amerykah Part 1 LP (Universal Records) 2007

^Not a bad album, not fantastic. But, this has gotta have some of Madlib's best production I've heard out of him in years. He really did EB right on this. I still haven't heard part 2 of this which dropped years ago. I wonder how it is in comparison.

Willie Bobo - Do What You Want to Do LP (Vampi Soul) OG 1971 RE 2006

Nice Spanish 220 gram pressing (thick as a dinner plate) of a classic Willie Bobo compilation. So many funky cuts on this, a very nice starter for Bobo newbs like me.

Faith No More - Album of the Year LP (Slash) OG 1997 RE 2013

^NICE! This album is so aptly titled. An absolute stunning final album by one of my favorite 90s heavy rock bands. There was no way I would ever find an OG since very few of them were pressed so I was beyond pumped to find this reissue locally. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended to all FNM fans, if you don't already know.

Yea Eye , that is a great track . The whole album is dope .. I wanted to post a video of the whole album for anyone that may not be familiar with it , but couldn't find one . Her (their) whole catalog is great.. I'm really wishing her well , since she got cancer . I hope she pulls through this okay ...
Yo Eye, did you listen to the full Gregory Porter album ? I've been hearing On My Way To Harlem on a local jazz station , and have been curious about the rest of the album .

Such a good track !!
