Had some back trouble over the last couple days, spent a couple hours lying on the floor with headphones on listening to Stevie Wonder last night. "Summer Soft" took me to a happy place.

^Hope your back is doing better dude.

Recently, (a whole lot of everything)

Victor Jara - Victor Jara LP (RCA) 1981

^One of those records that I somehow inherited from a friend of my Dad's. File under: quiet Mexican guitar folk music. This would go good on a Latin mixtape.

Platinum Pied Pipers - Triple P LP (Ubiquity) 2005

^My kind of R&B. The beats are so good on this, even Dilla drops a beat and rhyme on this. This is one of those albums I never tire of and I pull out frequently.

Barry Adamson - Moss Side Story LP (Mute) 1989

^My favorite ever dark-jazz musician. Like Twin Peaks kind of jazz only better. Adamson was born out of punk bands like Magazine as the bassist and quickly grew into an accomplished arranger of sinister Jazz music. His career is very much like that of Bill Laswell's in a lot of ways only much more unheralded.

Marvin Gaye - I Want You LP (Tamla) 1976

^Hmm, what to say about an absolute classic soul album like this?embarassed Oh, I know... "Staple!"

Arctic Monkeys - AM LP (Domino Records) 2013

^Not a huge fan of the Arctic Monkeys, I've got "Favorite Worst Nightmare" on LP and I liked that, and I got the 7" RSD of "R U Mine?" from a while ago, but I got this recently and I am blown away. There's nothing pretentious or wannabe-trend-setting about this album so far, on first listen it's obvious that it's just good rock.

Faith No More - The Real Thing LP (Slash/Music On Vinyl) RE 2013

^ and...

Faith No More - Angel Dust LP

The circle is now complete. darth vador This was the last missing piece! I Just wrote up a little Pic Blog on my FNM collection.

Celibate Rifles - The Turgid Miasma of Existence LP (Hot Records)

^This is outstanding punk\garage rock. I'd say it's now the smartest most technically advanced punk album on my shelves. These guys are so fucking great at playing their instruments, I'm not sure why I just found out about these guys after all these years, I shoulda been more on top of things.

Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headcase LP (Warp) 2005

^I have always loved these guy's uplifting, child-like, simple yet somehow utterly slamming drums sample concept. They basically harvest the sounds of Canada's public television archives and make albums out of layers of their found sounds of vintage synths and strange analog effects. Very cerebral, laid back and head nodding music. This is the one I never had on CD so I was pumped to get this recent reissue. Now I gotta cross off a few more of these reissues because they are really popular and seemingly going fast.
