Recently been bumping some new to me joints...


Robert Fripp - The League of Gentlemen (Editions EG) 1981



From the mind behind King Crimson, one of Robert Fripp's numerous side project... It's almost classifiable of audio art there is a lot of random odd conversations and vocal samples throughout this making it good for sampling, but not that great for repeated listens. A few interesting oddity songs in this but not essential for King Crimson fans.


Grover Washington Jr - Soul Box (Kudo) 1973



Bob James conducted this soul "box". 2 records and a lot extra packaging makes this a box, I guess, but the music on this is undeniably good. So many samples live on this, and so many unused samples just waiting to be tapped into. Unlike the Fripp record, this stands up to repeated listens, so I am really happy I just got this, It's already been rotated 3 times.


...and also been rotating a John Garcia compilation that Uptown dropped on me recently. I really have been sleeping on Kyuss and company, this is fantastic rock, right up my alley.

Last Night...

Pee Wee Crayton - Early Hours (Murray Brothers) 1984



^Misleading title, it's his last few albums of his life best tracks on this compilation. Still, his uncanny guitar style even in his last few years were so signature, and technically advanced, I love this guy.



John Lee Hooker - Free Beer & Chicken (ABC Records) 1974



^Super funky blues, soulful and thick production on this. This was way better then I thought it would be which explains why Dusty Groove is asking for 59 for an OG of this.



TV On The Radio - Dear Science (Interscope Records) 2008



^This is my new favorite TVOTR album. I can't describe it, it's just good as good can get. Thanks Brainchild for this recommendation.

Feels So Good would be hard to beat..I should listen to that.

Lately I been bumping Uptown's Jukebox Jams mix. Quality tracks on that P, I didn't know if that was my steez but it's surprisingly good. My new favorite Uptownkid comp.
