Midlife Crisis is good so is the horribly titled Jizz-lobber. The cover of Midnight Cowboy is sweet too. I got all the FNM albums on CD, I seriously love that band.

I played "Midlife crisis" to death back in the 90's. I still chuckle when I hear "you're menstruating hard but it ain't bleeding enough for two". How the hell they managed to make that line sound hard is beyond me. That whole album was great. "Everything's ruined" was great too and I think it had a funny video, not sure though. Never got into their other albums though but I will still turn up "Digging the grave" when I hear it.

Anyway, on a different tip, today I've been playing:

Average white band - Soul searching lp
Edwin Birdsong - She's wrapped too tight 12"
Trouble Funk - So early in the morning 12"

^Good ol Edwin. Horrible name, but a funky man.

Got this new Numero Joint this weekend...

Codeine - The White Birch LP (Numero Records) 2012

^Numero picked up this 1990s Sub Pop staple band for 3 newly reissued and expanded releases of their entire catalog. Buy em individually or get the complete box set for 80+ bucks, which is a big commitment for a band I'm not familiar with. This LP wasn't cheap either, but well worth it IMO. File under "Slow Core". Like shoe gazer rock or grunge slowed way down. Slow is right, super slow BPM, lots of angst, lot's of heavy mood changes in each track. Kind of like if Smashing Pumpkins was on Codeine they might sound like this. Not nearly as heavy as the Pumpkins but definitely as moody as the Pumpkins. I like this kind of underground rock. Definitely this would mix nicely with Morphine (the band NOT the drug LOL) no surprise there.

Speaking of Codeine, I've had to take codeine before for pain meds, I would NOT want to take it as a recreational drug, it made me utterly stupid and worthless when I was injured. I got off the med as soon as I could. I should have listened to these guys when I was on it though, I get their name.

GMM's post reminded me to break the seal on this one this afternoon:

rchecka: doesn't sound like my kind of thing but interested to hear it. Will have to do a little youtube research.
