@Jaybrown , if you liked that Breeders LP, definitely check out their first album "Pod". It's a lot more stripped down and they were basically a different band at that point. It's also the best thing they've ever done IMHO.

Harmonia - Musik von Harmonia

Classic stuff from the electronic side of 70s krautrock. If you like Cluster, Neu, and stuff like that, you definitely need this album. Unfortunately it's OOP at the moment, though there is a Russian bootleg LP/CD combo thing floating around. I had been looking for a decent version of this on CD or LP for awhile. For some reason, there is a Euro copy-protected CD version that seems to be the easiest to find, which I definitely did NOT want. Was browsing a local store and came across a legit Euro CD copy from the early 90s and grabbed it.

Note: the follow up "Deluxe" is also very good and a must own. That one is a bit easier to find good/legit copies of for some reason.

RN...

Various ‎– It's Another Iowa Compilation Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 LP (South East Records) 1988-89

^ I'm kind of a sucker for these regional rock comps, so I had to get the first one after I found the second online and gave it a little active listening. It's one of those 'every other track is good' comps, so you gotta pick up the needle a lot, but really, if you think about it, that's a lot of enjoyable indie\post punk unavailable anywhere else

I love making rock mixtapes every so often, and I'll pick my favorite off these two comps for that mix, but I'm sure I'll have a hard time picking out which song makes the final cut.

RIDE - Waves [Radio 1 Sessions 1990-1994]

Saw RIDE recently and bought this disc at the merch table instead of a $30-40 T-Shirt. I had actually not heard these recordings until now, and they sound markedly different from the studio versions (not necessarily better or worse), so if you like RIDE, this is worth getting. They even do covers of Pale Saints and Dead Can Dance songs, which is pretty unexpected.

For vinyl freaks, there is a 2xLP edition of Nowhere coming soon with the tracks from the Fall and Today Forever EPs.

Pic from the show:

If they come to your town, make sure to go see them if you can.
