^I know what incident you are talking about. That really doesn't sound like Phil based on what I know of him but I don't think you are making it up. Some of his lyrics are downright anti racist so I wonder if it was just a terrible night for him (them).

^The guy has serious issues from what I understand. After enough years of serious substance/alcohol abuse, people will say or do almost anything IME/IMHO. It takes a toll on the mind over time.

^Yeah, I've seen that guy play EXTREMELY drunk many times. There's drunk and then there's blasted. Sometimes it made him better on the mic, othertimes way worse. I have no doubt he's said some stupid shit on the mic and I'm not giving out passes but speaking personally that doesn't detract from his greater than himself music. Surprised that guy hasn't burnt out like a lot of other artists on the same path but some can do that their whole lives and not fizzle.

^In general, if you can't separate the music from the person, there are a lot of people that will disappoint you if you start digging into their behavior and personal lives. I try to take the music for what it is and leave it at that. Sometimes even that is impossible though.

Exactly. Let's look at Bill Cosby for example. I'm telling you if you don't already know some of his funk music was downright genius funk music. That is to say nothing of his comedy routine or acting personality.

Again, like Bill Cosby for example. I doubt I'll ever see his funk 45s that normally went for big bucks priced the same again because I'm guessing demand went way down. I have a few of his records, paid good money for the good ones, and I don't really feel the same about them as I once did. I can't really help it.
