^Very cool. Seems like a lot of older black metal is getting first time vinyl pressings lately. Which goes without saying is a good thing and yet I said it regardless of necessity.

Not familiar with this band, then again I know very little about U.S. black metal in general. I'll have to check this out. Always cool to see obscure 90s extreme metal getting reissued.

Golgothan Remains - Perverse Offerings to the Void

This death metal band from Australia doesn't really break any new ground, but they get a lot of things right where other bands fall short. Heavy as hell but the guitars on this album shine because rather than just playing pummeling riffs they focus quite a bit on creepy melodies and discordant sections. I also like that the vocals are very deep growls but don't sound too forced like a lot of newer bands. My only real complaint is the mastering which sounds as bricked and compressed to shit as any new album on Relapse or Nuclear Blast and kills a lot of the dynamics. If the band could release a Full Dynamic Range/High Dynamic Range version digitally, I'd be all over that. No pics because my CD is on order and will probably take almost a month to get here from Australia. I think there is a label handling vinyl preorders through Bandcamp if you're interested in that.

Sleep - The Sciences 2xLP

New album from this semi-legendary band. I took a chance on this one and was pleasantly rewarded. If you've not heard it, ignore the hype and check it out. Although I can't say at this point if it tops their first two classic albums it is very good. This is also my first record (IIRC) pressed at the new TMR plant. They did a good job with this one.
