Tomb Mold - Manor of Infinite Forms LP



Very hard to keep up with all the metal being released this year but this album has grabbed my attention. As everyone knows, I'm very picky about death metal but this album does most things right and very little wrong. Heavy as hell, good riffs, nice mix of tempos, and some melodic guitar leads here and there. The vocals also do not grate on my nerves too much, which is a huge problem I have with most contemporary death metal. This one is also worth picking up on LP because the vinyl used a dedicated master that is a bit less compressed than the CD and digital versions.

I dig what these guys are doing. I agree about the vocals. After 30+ years of hearing extreme metal, they can kind of get on my nerves, but this band handles them well.

Sleep - The Sciences 2xLP



So by now everyone must know that Sleep has a new album out. Although it won't dethrone Vol. One as my personal favorite, it is damn good and Third Man did a nice job pressing this at their new plant. If you like the band, just buy this.
