@uptownkid @jaybrown...For the most part ..Late Registration,College Dropout Kanye is probably gone forever...musically he is not in that space...the closest thing that even remotely resembles any of those offerings on this current album is a joint called "Bound 2" ...it's soulful and very reminiscent of the Kanye you speak of. Like I said before Kane's arrogant self believes he is enlightening his listeners, elevating their standards and setting new trends ..he is a false prophet but I still find him deliciously entertaining.

Yeah, hiphopchiq...Bound 2 is okay, but i think he coulda flipped that, Ponderosa Twins plus 1 sample a little better. But that's just the producer/DJ in me coming out, when I say that.

Recently over the past few days I got a chance to whittle down my borrow pile...

...But first, from the buy pile I paid for and now own...

People Under The Stairs ‎– Tuxedo Rap!!! 12" (Tres Records) 2006 and People Under The Stairs ‎– Pass The 40 12" (Tres Records) 2006

^Sealed PUTS nabbed from the big dig. Finally I got to the very first few in the start of my PUTS 12" collection. I got all their albums but I am missing out on the singles with exclusive tracks. I like these two they are dope and they have oversized labels so they kinda look like giant 45s.

People Under the Stairs - Jappy Jap 12" (OM Records) 2002

^Another sealed PUTS nabbed, Jappy Jap! Sounds kinda racist if you didn't know what they were rappin about LOL.

Ghetto Philharmonic - Hip Hop Be-Bop LP (Tuff City) 1994

^Also sealed and nabbed this DOPE jazzy boom bap in the style of a slightly harder Digable Planets. Lots of live horns and reeds on this slept on Tuff City stormer.

...now back to the borrow pile wax that I gotta either pass on or buy...

Yeshua daPoED ‎– Directions / The Head Bop 12" (Raw Shack Productions) 1998

^I was hoping this would be good based on my knowledge of his good tracks. Well, disappointment is a part of life son. old geezer Seriously wack. PASS!

Adagio ‎– Promo Single Off EP (Som Recordings) Unknown Year

^Laid back simple beats on a slept on rapper affiliate with the Jugganauts. The first track is dope enough to put this in the Joe Buy pile alone.

Jay Z - Dead Presidents 12" (Roc-A-Fella Records) 1996

^Why I don't already have this 12" is beyond me. CLASSIC Jay-Z and now in the buy pile.

Casual - VIP / I Gotta (Get Down) / Turf Dirt 12" (Stimulated Records) 2001

^Casual has a few nice singles and albums. But this is wack as hell. Pass!

Grand Daddy IU - Represent Remixes 12" (Epic) 1994

^The more records I dug through in this huge collection (I literally flipped through 25,000 records in the past few weeks on my freetime to create a huge borrow pile) the more I realized most of these records have been highly picked through. DJ B-Mellow rejected a lot of these because they ain't that good, he had way too many medicre Hip Hop promos and he had to make space. He's probably 100X more picky than I am and it was no skin off his back to sell 25,000 promos. Wade, the owner of metrowax says he still has another collection like this for sale that is priced much higher and is not picked through and once he flips this collection his aiming for that. But this is a perfect example of the weak crap he rejected. Really really not good. WACK! PASS.

Lords of the Underground - Here Come The Lords 12" (Pendulum Records) 1993

^On the other hand he left a few staples that every Hip Hop Head should have either because it was cheap and good or maybe he just was that picky that it doesn't matter to let a few good ones go. Regardless, I finally got my hands on one of my favorite tracks of CMB vol. 3. DOPE! Joe Buy!

Edo.G ‎– Dedicated / Acting Promo EP (Solid Recordings) 1996

^This promo looked so promising. Scratching by DJ Shame too! But what a shame, it's no where near as cool as it looks. PASS.

Tee Double - Lost Scriptures EP (Good Vibe Recordings) 1999

^Once in a while I'll borrow a record I know nothing about based on a hunch about the record. The label has a few good records, so maybe this dude is good. Well, it's not, it's wack as all hell. PASS!

Live Wirez - Real Nig--z 12" (THEMS Records) 1994

^One that slipped through the cracks, a really cool underground track from Live Wirez. Not quite as good as "Approach The Mic / Straight From The Dome" but still pretty dope. Still, for what Metrowax wants for it, I can be picky and let him keep it for the next guy. At 20 bucks I'll definitely pass.

Handsome Boy Modeling School ‎– The Projects (PJays) / Once Again 12" (Tommy Boy) 1999

^Cheap but dope HBMS from their best album. Gotta get this in my buy pile!

Public Enemy ‎– What Kind Of Power We Got? 12" (Def Jam) 1994

^Joe completionism #27 = buy pile! Not their best 12 but still worth owning.

Jatis ‎– Mama's Dirty Water / Aroma 12" (Patchwerk Recordings) 2001

^Borrowed a little Hotlanta Hip Hop... Looks interesting, but fails miserably. Pass!

DJ Krush - Selections Promo EP (Mo Wax) 1997

^DJ Krush is my favorite Japanese DJ and I won't be able to get the album at a reasonable price so this "Selections" will have to do. Buy pile!

Truth Enola ‎– Ain't Changed / Voicetress / I Need to Know 12" (Solid Records) 2004

^Any 12" featuring De La Soul ends up in my borrow pile. But even De La could not save this doomed 12" from sucking. Pass!

Breez Evahflowin' ‎– Pro-Files: The EP (Detonator Records) 2000

^DOPE! Why does this have to be the one in this collection with a big dish warp!?! really angry The good tracks still play ok, but a few do not. As long as it's under a buck I'll pay for a warped record so I'll put this in the tentative buy pile.

Akrobatik ‎– Remind My Soul 12" (Coup d'État) 2003

^Dope enough to rock doubles! The A side is where it's at. Buy pile!

Jeru the Damaja - 99.9% 12" (Know Savage Productions) 1999

^Dope cover, dope tune on the flip, = Joe buy.
