My copy is a Scorpio reissue from recent years. It actually doesn't sound bad at all (I only paid $10 for it) but if you can find an older pressing that's probably the way to go. You'll have to look at the deadwax and the cardstock material of the LP jacket because Scorpio just cloned everything from the Mainstream label pressing.

Nice pair of records, LM - thanks! The Terry Huff disc is available on Spotify - listening to it right now. Smoooooooth.

The Philly style of The Lonely One had me wondering whether Terry Huff was related to Leon Huff (of Philly Int'l production/writing team Gamble & Huff) - looks like he wasn't, but I found out that his musical career was put on hiatus while he was a cop on the DC police force (ending his career as a detective). The man led quite a life.

^I like some Philly Soul type stuff too, which I will post later. I wouldn't say I'm an expert in it or anything though.

New York City - I'm Doin' Fine Now

I don't know too much about these guys, as this was one of those records I bought purely on a whim because it looked cool and was dirt cheap. I believe they are not from NYC or anything like that, this is actually early 70s Philly Soul. Some of the tracks are standards we've all heard before, but even those aren't too bad. If you like 70s soul, grab this.

Good stuff Lionsmouth!!!!
Haven't had much extra money for records lately, but my wife surprised me with a couple great records

The Five Stairsteps - Stairsteps lp 1970 Buddha Records
A great blend of harmonizing soul , psychedelic soul , and some funky soul from a family of singers .

and their staple track..

The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble - self-titled lp 2015 Colemine Records
Amazing modern soul all instrumental album. Very soulfull but jazzy and funky at the same time . If you are a fan of drum breaks , this might make your album of the year .It is loaded with breaks !!! A very solid listen .
