I know some of you have some awesome stuff in this very broad category (i.e. Whyaduck's Boombat's post on Superdrag) so let's get this thread going. This thread could be anything from MBV to the Auteurs to Guided By Voices to Dinosaur Jr. to more obscure bands in the very general category from anywhere in the world. Contemporary bands in these styles are welcome here as well.

Curve - Doppelganger CD

This band, at least early on (not that familiar with later work) seemed to have everything down right. Killer female vocalist, driving/noisy guitars, and sophisticated (for the time) electronic tinged, beat heavy production by Flood. Listened to this while driving around the other day and forgot how great of an album this really is. I like their early EPs as well. Now, I know this was released on LP but IIRC it's not too easy to find and will set you back some $. Given that there has been a huge surge in popularity for this sort of thing in recent years, I'm hoping for a nice vinyl reissue.

@Whyaduck and Boombat, fixed that.

Yeah, I figured the separate topics would help jumpstart some discussion in what seem to be some fairly common/popular areas or just stuff that I think is cool so...

If anyone has an idea for a good topic, you can start your own too.
