^That's groovy, I'm feeling that.

Ben Webster - The Warm Moods LP

I don't usually go for jazz ballads with string sections but when it's done right I can appreciate it. Here, it's definitely done right. Webster has a killer tone and gives these songs some soul even though it's a very polished affair.

My copy is a reissue on Pure Pleasure. I have a handful of LPs from this label and they always do a great job. Unlike so many reissue labels they cut direct from analog tape and put a lot of effort into great pressings. Way different from the shoddy jobs so many labels do with jazz nowadays (esp. Euro public domain garbage).

Kenny Burrell With the Brother Jack McDuff Quartet - Crash! LP

Not an album you'll find on any jazz best of lists, but a very nice LP indeed. Lots of nice interplay between McDuff's organ and Burell's guitar. Love the cover as well, and this is one hasn't been subject to massive jazz collector price inflation yet.

Joe Henderson Featuring Alice Coltrane - The Elements LP

One of Henderson's more sought after records from the 70s, this is a recent reissue by the Jazz Dispensary label. Side 1 is slightly funky and smooth, while Side 2 gets more adventurous and psychedelic. Recommended for anyone that likes 70s jazz in general. Don't overlook his other records from the 70s either.
