Nice! Luckily, the price for it hasn't shot up like other '90s hardcore releases. You can even get their discography on CD from their label, Gern Blandsten, for $9.

Shotmaker/Maximillian Colby - Split LP

I came across this 7" and split LP over the last couple of weeks at my local record store, both for reasonable prices. All three were early-to-mid '90s hardcore bands that get tagged as "emo" quite often. If you like the Max Colby side of the split and still find value in digital downloads, you can download their discography on BandCamp here: Maximillian Colby Discography. If you dig around the lovitt records BandCamp page, you should come across the equally awesome post-hardcore band Sleepytime Trio, which were made up of former Max Colby members.

Never heard those bands before , but I like them !!! For some strange reason it makes me want to listen to this ...

Now there is a band I haven't thought about in a long time. I bought their s/t album in the late 90s and liked it then. Not sure how I would feel about it now. There was similar band on the same label (Mountain Collective) called Closure that I liked back then also.

A lot of the stuff like that from around then just didn't hold up for me. I can still appreciate bands like Heroin and Swing Kids, but I don't play their stuff very often anymore either. I much more likely to put on one of the Dischord/Revolution Summer type bands, Split Lip, Falling Forward, etc.

Jesus, man. I feel like I've missed out on a whole scene in this thread. I've never heard this before either, but damned if I don't dig this one, too. I kind of drifted away from this stuff by then end of the 90s. Guess i should have been paying closer attention.

The best band IMHO from the later part of the 90s in the whole screamy emo scene was Portraits of Past. A lot of their music is slower and moodier than some of their peers. The had one LP and some 7''s...Ebulltion did a discography CD as well a few years back that you might still be able to find on Discogs. I still listen to them every now and then. I probably overdosed on this kind of music during the mid/late 90s, which is why on certain bands stuck with me...
