Mudhoney - Mudhoney LP (Sub Pop) 2013 RE of 1989 OG

^Not quite sure when this recent reissue came out, possibly this year or last but it is a very nice official reissue. Sub Pop doesn't really mess around with crap reissues, seems like they have a good QC ethic. It came with the nice poster, remastered from the original tapes and pressed up on nice heavy vinyl. They included a HQ anti-static inner sleeve which always makes a big difference on the longevity of these things, and high quality digital download included which, for me, whatever, but a nice bonus nonetheless.

Discogs put this under the genre grunge, and I can hear their distinct Seattle grunge roots in that sound but it also has a punk thing going for it so here it is. If I were to mix any straight-up punk song before and after any song from this album no one would call me out on it. They certainly became even more grunge like as their later albums came out. They still are doing their thing today BTW.

Suburban Mutilation - The Opera Ain't Over Til The Fat Lady Sings! LP (Beer City Records) 2014 RE of 1984 OG

^One of my all time favorite hardcore punk albums I own. From Green Bay Wisconsin and recorded in Neenah Wisconsin they sound nothing at all like your typical Wiscomptonites. Ferociously hard and raw sounding yet with the kind of precision playing from all members in the band you rarely hear in hardcore punk. This one is hard to describe for me in detail, but I liked this album so much I bought a copy for my brother for Christmas last year. So it's "Christmas present for lil bro" good and that says a lot for me.

Just listen to the glorious fuzz in "Ya Buncha Morons"

^Rock On

Suburban Mutilation sounds good. Beer City has done some good reissues. I saw they just reissued the Clitboys EP which is kind of a big deal.

I don't have that Mudhoney album, just their first album on CD. I should probably add more Mudhoney to me my collection at some point. That track you posted was also covered by Spacemen 3 on their final album, Recurring.

999 - High Energy Plan LP

Despite the title, this is a just the U.S. version of the band's second LP, "Separates", which is also my favorite 999 album. I think the tracklisting might be slightly different from the UK version I've got on CD but it's basically the same album. This U.S. edition is also much, much easier to find over here than the UK pressing.

Bastard - Wind of Pain 12''

Six song 12'' of legendary Japanese hardcore. This is the reissue on Feral Ward from a few years back. A bit straightforward compared to Japanese groups from the 90s and 2000s but this is good stuff. Feral Ward also just reissued Death Side's two LPs, which I need to get as soon as I'm able to.

Toy Dolls - Idle Gossip CD

Not my favorite Toy Dolls album, that would probably be the one right before this. This is their third album and has some weird 80s production going on(particular in the guitar sound), but nothing to spoil the fun too much. Not the kind of thing I'm in the mood for often, but these guys are so unique you need at least one album by them in your collection. The hyperactive vocals and silly lyrics are a bit of an acquired taste for some I'm sure.
