Less than $20 bucks for the LP including shipping to the US?!?! I'm all over that! This is definitely good stuff. Sounds a bit like the softer side of late-80s early-90s Sonic Youth. Thanks for the tip on this one.

If you do get the LP shipped from Europe, let us know how the quality is and whether the packing was sufficient. I'm leery of having stuff shipped from overseas now after a couple of bad experiences (ultra-flimsy mailers, stuff getting lost or taking forever) in the last couple of years.

This record arrived today. It was shipped from Germany on 3/3/2017, so the transit time was pretty reasonable. It was sent in an actual LP mailer (the same king I generally get from Europe; it has a little flap on the top of the rear that inserts into another slot). The record was packed with stiffeners on either side and was shipped in a very heavy plastic sleeve with the LP removed from the jacket and slipped in the sleeve behind it. And it was registered, too, so that I had to sign for delivery. I didn't request this, but it's been my experience that this is pretty common with stuff shipped from Germany.

The record itself is an excellent pressing. No surface noise at all, and well mastered. For the price, this was quite a bargain. Thanks again for recommending this one.

Not a fan of those thin flap mailers but at least they put stiffeners and put the record behind the cardstock jacket to avoid seam splits. Nice touch that they sent it registered. If you have time, can you post the deadwax info for the record? I'm curious where it was pressed. Also, was it on plain black vinyl or something else?

I'll get the runout info the next time I pull it out to listen to and post it here. I do know that it was pressed at MPO in France, and I've personally never had a bad pressing from them. It's on good old fashioned black vinyl. Here's a photo of the actual album.

Looks nice. I've generally had pretty good luck with MPO as well. I'm sure they have their bad days as every plant does though.

The Armoury Show - Waiting for the Floods LP

The sole LP from this 80s group featuring Richard Jobson (Ex-Skids) on vox and John McGeoch (Ex-Magazine, Siouxsie & the Banshees, etc.) on guitar. The sound is very similar to where the Skids left off with their third album, perhaps a bit more atmospheric at times. In general, think post-punk guitar pop "big music". I'd be lying if I said this was as phenomenal as the Skids' best work but it is a very good LP on its own.

I never realized that was the guitarist from Magazine & Siouxsie on this. I thought he had just dropped out of music for a while after his breakdown and stayed away until he joined up with PiL later in the 80s. I need to give this a listen. That dude was one of the most underrated guitarists of his time.
