Hijokaidan - Romance
Alchemy Records, 1990

Great pick. Classic harsh noise for sure. Unfortunately this is the only Hijokaidan I have. Need to get some more eventually.

Did you see that Skin Crime box that came out awhile back...something like 20 CDs? Wanted that but never could get around to buying it.

I didn't know about that, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it!

I think Hospital Productions put it out. It was basically a reissue box of a lot of old OOP cassettes. Limited also. Some distros might still have it in stock but it was well over $100 so probably why I didn't get it when it was first announced.

Dissecting Table - Into the Light

Dissecting Table is the long running industrial project of Ichiro Tsuji from Japan. If you like machine rhythms, distorted noise, and incomprehensible screaming vocals, this should be right up your alley. He had a brief period of notoriety around the late 90s with a couple albums on Release/Relapse, but other than that is a strictly underground artist.

With the possible exception of Mental Destruction from Sweden, I can't think of much to compare this to. Tsuji has a LOT of releases, and this is just one of the many strong albums he released during the 90s. At some point around 2004/2005, he started releasing material on self-released CDrs at an insane clip, and I just couldn't keep up.

No video clip, though you can find tracks from his other albums on YouTube.

^Ichiro Tsuji is an absolutely amazing artist. You're right, there's just a crazy amount of stuff out there from him. I think the first thing I ever heard was the Dissecting Table 7" I picked up back when I was in college. I need to dig that thing out one day and give it another listen.
