Probably one of the best Austin City Limits I've ever seen. You can watch and listen to the whole thing and Beck is absolutely at the top of his game here in 2002. This is what got me curious about Flaming Lips, his backing band for this concert.

^I miss that Beck.

I hit up a local shop lately that I hadn't been in before called Fond Object . It's a nice little shop , but my only complaint is their lack of music outside of the rock genres . There was a little bit of soul/r&b , jazz , classical , and country . Along with some misc genres world , exotica , etc . But all of these genres were very sparse ( except the country which was a decent sized selection ). Most of their selection fell into the rock genres . Indie , punk , metal, classic rock , etc ... there were some great records in there though . Here is my score .

Bad Brains - self titled LP

^This album is a no brainer . I have enjoyed this album since I first heard it in the 5th grade on Shane Scott's Walkman . I can't figure out why this is the first time I've ever owned it on vinyl though . Classic!!!

The Degenerics - Generica LP

^I ran across this band in 2002 . There were a few tracks by them in the music section on Download.com ( cnet ) , that you could download for free . I wore those songs out , but again never copped an album until now . This is a great hardcore punk album with a little ska thrown in.

Capitalist Casualties - Planned Community EP

^Do you see a pattern forming here ? More hardcore punk . This time three tracks on 6" vinyl . This is the first 6" record I've ever owned . And the first capitalist casualties album I've had that wasn't on cd .

Fudge / Totsugeki Sensya - split 7"

^Some great Japanese hardcore that I had never heard of until I picked this up.

Artimus Pyle - Fortress EP 7"

^I caught this band live with From Ashes Rise in 02 or early 03 can't remember . This is the first time I've actually seen any of their records out in the wild . Also the first of their records that I've owned . I've only had one cd . I couldn't find a video from this 7" , but I would like to post something , so here is the cd I have Civil Dead..

I picked up a few more pieces , but I will have to post them later. To be continued...

Haha, I love memories like that. That's the kind of record that gives you those kind of memories.

Right Now...

Barry Adamson - Girl

^I don't know how many of you are familiar with the dark musings of Barry Adamson but I'd highly recommend him 9/10 times.

^ No doubt.

Little known fact he played bass for the group Magazine and did some soundtrack work for David Lynch.
