Molested - Blod-draum CD Discogs Page Underground Norwegian death metal circa 1995. This band is probably most famous for being a project involving Oystein Braun, who later formed the much more popular band Borknagar. I wouldn't say this is my favorite death metal album by any stretch, but it is well done even if it doesn't really break any new ground. My copy is the receby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Nasum - Helvete originally released by Relapse Records, 2003 - this pressing by Relapse, 2015 This band gets a lot of flack nowadays for being too slick which I don't understand. I guess too polished for the tr00er than thou grind heads. I liked their debut album a lot when it came out. Right now I only have their 2xCD comp of EPs, demos, and compilation tracks. QuoteGordon Rekcikssa QuoteLionsMouth Arckanum - Fran Marder This is some quality black metal. I have their first cassette. I need to check this one out, too. Very cool. I also have their Kostogher album which is the one after Fran Marder. Same label did the reissue and the same deal with overcooked/compressed mastering. Musically it's definitely on point though. The best band IMHO from the later part of the 90s in the whole screamy emo scene was Portraits of Past. A lot of their music is slower and moodier than some of their peers. The had one LP and some 7''s...Ebulltion did a discography CD as well a few years back that you might still be able to find on Discogs. I still listen to them every now and then. Quotejaybrown Saetia is very emo ( screamo) though .. Now there is a band I haven't thought about in a long time. I bought their s/t album in the late 90s and liked it then. Not sure how I would feel about it now. There was similar band on the same label (Mountain Collective) called Closure that I liked back then also. A lot of the stuff like that from around then just didn't holby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

@Jaybrown, nice. I don't have any of those. I was hoping the Main Source would get a wider release but that doesn't seem to be happening. VMP is stepping up their game for sure. I don't think I would subscribe but there are a few exclusives they have that I'd like to get. One thing I don't like about them is that even though started opening the store to non-subscribers, tby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

Quotewhoisfrank Hey everyone, I joined this forum yesterday, so I'm just popping in to introduce myself. I'm 25 years old, and I mainly listen to punk/hardcore and indie rock, although over the last few years I've been getting into some hip-hop, country, and bluegrass. My signature should have a link to my bandcamp collection if want a snapshot of what I've been listening tby LionsMouth - General Discussion
Blame One - Days Chasing Days CD Discogs Page Haven't played this in a long time and decided to dig it out recently. This was Blame One's fourth album overall, IIRC it was supposed to be his last but he ended up coming out of retirement for another album a few years after this. Arckanum - Fran Marder Arckanum's second album from 1995. If you like black metal that is raw but has some interesting atmosphere and rises above the bedroom demo level stuff, check this album out. My copy is a 2009 reissue on Debemur Morti Productions. It comes in a nice digibook package but the mastering is unfortunately squashed and overcooked. Quoterchecka ^Speaking of Stoner Rock... Masters of Reality - Deep in the Hole LP (Bong Load Records) 2017 RE of 2001 I still need to pick up some stuff by this band. I'm curious if I can decode who pressed or mastered it from that...by LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotewhoisfrank I'd say Shotmaker is my favorite of the three. I recently grabbed their 2CD discography set off of discogs. For some reason that release goes for much more (about $30-40) than music from other '90s hardcore bands. I had actually never heard of Merel before I came across the 7". It was labelled as "Emo/Hardcore" in the store, and when I googled them, I rby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

That Petrol Emotion - Manic Pop Thrill TPE's first LP from 1986. This band was made up of two ex-members of the Undertones but sounds nothing like them. Instead of light punky power pop this is sort of the crossroads of 80s indie rock and post-punk. Some good songs, lots of melody, though not as aggressive as their next album, Babble. If you've never heard TPE, I'd probablyby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Ben Webster - The Warm Moods LP I don't usually go for jazz ballads with string sections but when it's done right I can appreciate it. Here, it's definitely done right. Webster has a killer tone and gives these songs some soul even though it's a very polished affair. My copy is a reissue on Pure Pleasure. I have a handful of LPs from this label and they always do a gby LionsMouth - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I liked all three bands during the 90s but haven't listened to them in years other than Shotmaker. Merely had a discography CD on Gern Blandsten, way OOP now.
