That Marco Polo was a letdown to me when it dropped after Port Authority as you mentioned, gotta revisit that album actually.

Haven't fully peeped the Ace/Doom album, got several others before it in line for 2012 catch up and I remember not really feeling the snippets. Were some of the beats recycled/old?

I'm still listening to this album heavy after seeing it on a year end list, quite enjoyed it, production really knocks and Rapsody is quite the MC. I like her accent, delivery and general thoughtfulness. Lots of features on it and most of them work well (though I'm not feeling the Mac Miller appearance in the least), Ab Soul drops a nice verse. Was pretty dope in my book:

^Yeah she sounds like a good MC, no doubt.
On that Masta Doom colab some beats were recycled, I guess that was the appeal because it was done well wicked. It's mostly dooms beats (if not all).

This weekend...

DJ Crucial - Retro/Active 12" (F5 Records) 2012

^Some old to the new sheet. Good beats, not quite as nice as his in the Company of Wolves LP but still a good showcase of his unique production. Can't complain seeing as 2 of my favorite MCs are on this, Edo G and Sadat X.

Finsta Bundy - The Unreleased Album EP (Red Chopped Herring Records) 2012

^I paid a pretty penny to have this shipped from Germany hoping that it would be as dope as their Feel the High and Sunnyside 12"s, which are untouchable beats BTW, but unfortunately I think those were their highwater marks. Still, this is nothing to sneeze at there are some real standout tracks on this, I'd say at least 3 dope tracks and a few decent ones. Worth having, I love it, but maybe not for the absorbent overseas shipping price. Still there were only 2 sellers online that had this so I chose the cheaper route, there appears to be one left on discogs for a measly 84 bones before shipping.

Large Professor ‎– Professor @ Large LP (Fat Beats) 2012

^Man, I can see why this was so hyped Large Pro hasn't missed a step. Really nice chillaxed beats on this, just some laid-back straight forward unpretentious niceness from a veteran producer with a million production credits under his belt. He's never been the worlds best spitter, just average like Pete Rock, I always thought of him more for his beats and that's where he shines on this release. Some really deep, really cool samples on this, I had a few aha moments bumping this.

I'd say that Large Pro is a better MC than Pete Rock by quite a distance..

^I'd agree with that for sure, just using Pete Rock as an example of a ok rapper known primarily for his productions.

Haha did you mark that Finsta Bundy record as released by Red Herring Records on purpose? ((lmao))

That latest Shaz Illyork record they dropped is dope too!
