PJ Harvey - Dry CD

Not quite as monumental as her next two albums, but this is still damn good. No idea if a high quality vinyl reissue of this has been done in recent years, but if not, someone should step up and do it.

The Estranged - Self-Titled LP

Pretty sure I posted about this band before, but I'm posting this anyway, because I like this record so much. Although this band has been around for a few years, I don't think anything I've heard from them quite measures up to this album. They really hit the mark here, with a mix of throwback post-punk, dark 60s-ish garage rock, the Wipers, and even some subtle bits that make me think of 80s Revolution Summer Dischord type stuff. It really is a great record.

Not intended I'm certain but quick skips through that albums guitar tones conjures up thoughts of Weller. Sounds good!

@ Boombat, I'm a huge Jam fan as I'm sure you're aware. Didn't notice that but I'm sure there are traces of it there now that you mention it.

Marginal Man - Identity

An early Dischord 12'', from 1984, Marginal Man tend to be very underrated and somewhat forgotten today. That's unfortunate as they were a very good band, releasing two classic albums during the 80s. Also, they were one of the earliest groups to exhibit characteristics of the whole Emocore/Revolution Summer sound that came a little later. My copy is an old pressing on Dischord from the 80s. I'm not sure if this is still in print or not, but you should be able to track down some pressing of this at a very reasonable price.
