Thanks! That one was just to start - later I'll post pictures of my Brand New collection!

Haha. Too funny.

Agreed re: 70s jazz. A local shop (Record High in Phoenix - highly recommended) recently bought an absolutely mint collection that was very heavy on late '60's through '80's jazz. They priced and put out about 100 or so records a week and I'd go by every weekend and leave with 10 or so discs. I picked up both of those self titled Old And New Dreams titles, some McCoy Tyner, Ornette Coleman, Dollar Brand, Horace Silver, Mingus, Monk, John McLaughlin, Toshiko Akiyoshi BB, and others - all in perfect condition. A few were in the $30 range, but most were $10-15.

Sounds right up my alley. The store in my area does the same thing on a regular basis. Jazz at one time was really huge in the area and there are a few old timers that are still around, which is a lot of the store's customer base. They get some great collections in from time to time, and many of the records will be NM or very close to it. They also get a lot of 60s and 70s R&B/Soul type stuff. I bought a sealed Otis Redding - Dock of the Bay 60s pressing there once. The store also maintains a steady stock of 70s and 80s reissues of classic jazz, sometimes the covers will be a little worn but the records inside are usually close to VG+ and those go for $4-7 usually. Often I will walk out of there will a nice stack of records for something like $40.

Never heard of this band. Taang put out a lot of good stuff here and there, both homegrown and through UK licensing agreements with labels like Fire and Captain Oi!. One thing I will say is that they're one of the absolute worst mailorder places I've ever dealt with, and I will never deal with them direct again unless it's through eBay, and even then I might think twice.

Broken Bones - Dem Bones

Around the time when Discharge started to suck sometime in the early 80s (i.e. the Warning 12'' EP), Terry Bones, former Discharge guitarist, started up this band. I don't think they've ever really had the type of influence and impact that Discharge at their best did, but they are damn good. This CD has their first album with some bonus material.

Richard & Linda Thompson - I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight

Classic folk-rock from the 70s UK, don't really know much about it except that is the album is highly acclaimed and I've meant to check it out for awhile. I got this CD awhile back but didn't have time to really sit down and listen to it until recently. Maybe not to everyone's taste here, but I dig it.

The Nils - Self-Titled (1987)

The only non-posthumous LP by this cult band from Canada, often compared to the Replacements. Fans seem to be a bit divided by this one, as it definitely lacks the immediacy of their earlier EPs and comp. tracks. I do like it, but it has the kind of energy sapping production that a lot of late 80s college rock type stuff had at the time.

A couple tracks from the LP:

My favorite song by the band, taken from an old BYO Comp:
