Ludwig Van Beethoven - Concerto in D Major for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 61 LP (Concert Hall Society Records) 195?

^Man I love these classical records I inherited a while back. I am absolutely sucked into the sound of these old records when I take the time to drop a needle on them. You can really tell they are artifacts that need to be loved and I'm up for the job.

Ok I'll admit, I'm pretty anal about these records, here's what I'm doing with them... Because the outer jackets were shrinking and cracking, so much so that they were making it almost impossible to slide the records out, I bought plain white outer record jackets for all of them in the collection. I took them all out of their leather jackets, and put them in anti-static audiophile inner sleeves that I also just bought that weren't cheap. I scanned the each gold sticker on the front of each record, then I printed them all out, cut them out, and taped them to their corresponding plain white record jackets so that way I had all the pertinent information about the record right at my fingertips. I then put the now empty jackets in a plastic sealed tub to hopefully stop the shrinkage and I'll bust them out only to read more when I'm curious for in depth information on the record. I am currently in the process of spin cleaning each of these red records and finally I am recording them all to WAV file so that I can have these perfect-for-work recordings at my office. One by one I am recording them all, and I started with this one. I mean, why not start with the famous Schroeder bust after all. Anyways, long story short, I am doing the best I can to preserve these for my kids because I feel that these are probably the most special and historically significant records in my collection. By recording them to WAV I hope to enjoy them and share them with those interested in being shared with. PM me if that perks your interest.

Weird nerd fact: One study showed that cows produce more milk while listening to classical music. Strange but true, there are certain farmers have learned this and play classical music in their barns all day.

Brian Eno - Before and After Science LP (Polydor) 1977

^Classic rock album from rock\ambient production god Brian Eno. He builds a lot off of the success from his prior albums with the likes of King Crimson's Robert Fripp, Phill Collins, among other names. Not my favorite album of his, that'd be "Another Green World" by a mile, but still an amazing work worthy of listening by Eno newbs or snobs alike.

New Jerseys' Got It? LP (Buy Our Records) 1985

^SO SWEET! Picked this OG punk comp yesterday and as you can tell it's from New Jersey 80s hardcore punk bands. I was thrilled to find the book about the artists intact inside. This is now one of my new cherished regional punk compilations. How cool would it be to get all the essential US regional punk comps on vinyl? I say it would be VERY COOL and a good goal for me however unobtainable it is.

^I'm digging that Mathew Shipp. Thirsty Ear is a very diverse label. I have a few of their catalog and ecclectic doesn't even begin to describe it. Even Meat Beat Manifesto my favorite techno band made their roster. Great stuff.thumbs up
