Managed to sneak this one in today ..

The Detroit Jazz Composers Ltd. - Hastings St. Jazz Experience lp . Another on of my recent inexpensive repress scores . A great mix of spiritual , soulful , and a little funky jazz . This pressing cost me a whopping $10 , and I would have been happy dropping two or three times that . A definite great listen for me and my daughter today ..

^Those clips sound great. I can dig this. It looks like Universal Sound/Soul Jazz also reissued it as a 2xLP in 2013. Added to the wantlist.

I would like to have a heavier pressing . May look at this 2lp pressing to see if it's 180g . I'm sure the fact that it's a 2lp pressing make it worth copping anyway . Not to mention the fact that I noticed my copy has a slight warp ( nothing to worry about and it doesn't affect play at all ) .

I wouldn't know if it's 180g or not. Since it's a Soul Jazz related release, I would expect it to be on standard weight vinyl. The few Soul Jazz label releases I have are on standard weight wax.

Bumped this funky jazz joint yesterday ...

Donald Byrd - Street Lady lp. Been looking for a descent copy of this album for a while . Even though the cover is pretty beat up , the album itself was in VG+ or better condition . Picked it up for $3.00 ... SCORE !!!!
