^^ that sounds interesting , but good !! I need to check it out . As for that Coltrane joint , my wife copped it for me on Amazon for $10 . To be such a cheap copy , it sounds amazing !! I too expected it to sound like a cheap repress , but was pleasantly surprised .

John Coltrane - Blue Train LP - Music Matters 33rpm (Mono)

So this is an LP that needs no introduction. Everyone's probably heard it by now on some format or another. I will say this is not my favorite Coltrane album, but it has grown on me a great deal over time. Until I got this edition though, I felt like I never really "heard" it. Yeah, it's that good. Everything from the sound (all analog cut from the original master tape) to the packaging (almost like a hardback book) is absolutely incredible.

If you don't know about these Music Matters reissues of Blue Note albums, check them out. They are not like the garden variety reissues most companies are doing these days and are aimed more toward the audiophile market. Given the prices I've seen lately on even subpar 70s and 80s pressings of Blue Note stuff in the used bins, typically in mediocre condition, it makes sense to buy these occasionally. I only have a handful of them. If I won the lottery or something, I'd get the entire catalog.

Joe Farrell - Moon Germs LP

So here is a killer jazz fusion album I'm sure a lot of people on here would dig. Check out the lineup on this one. Definitely not one of CTI's more commercial releases to my ears.

Stanley Cowell Trio - Illusion Suite LP

Here is one to check out if you see it in the wild. Not quite like the usual ECM stuff...some traditional piano trio, almost Cecil Taylor sounding avant stuff, even a little funky at one point. I bought this mainly because I liked the cover but the music turned out to be great as well. This is one of those things I "rediscovered" from my own collection.
