Kenny Burrell - Soul Call LP

One of the bigger names is jazz guitar, I think was released shortly after his famous "Midnight Blue" album. While I'm not sure if it's quite as amazing as that one, it's damn good and worth seeking out. My copy is a 70s U.S. pressing.

Buddy Terry - Awareness LP

Another jazz guy I don't know much about, but I dig this LP quite a bit. I have another record by him that I like a lot too. This is one of those early 70s jazz titles that seems to be somewhat underappreciated, so you can probably grab a nice copy for a reasonable price.

Wes Montogomery feat. the Eddie Higgins Trio - One Night in Indy LP

Good sounding 1959 live performance. This was one of those Black Friday RSD titles I ended up getting later because I had some store credit. The piano features very prominently in this, so if you don't like mellow-piano centric jazz, you won't like this one. Personally I really dig it. At times it gets going a bit more but it's pretty mellow overall.

^Love that guy. The nice thing about Wes is a lot of his stuff is reasonably priced and great.

^Yeah, I guess my luck with Wes stuff on the used cratedigging front hasn't really been that fruitful. Usually I will find copies of his Verve-era albums that are in less than ideal shape and the store wants too much for them. I've never really tried much of his Verve-studio stuff because a lot of it is just covers of pop songs or whatever. The earlier Riverside era is really his "classic period" and some of those records are still in print via OJC/Concord. I have most of those on CD. The only other Wes I've got on vinyl is the Jimmy & Wes - Dynamic Duo LP, which is very good. Actually, for Wes' Verve Period I really like "Smokin' at the Half Note" but I only have that one on CD.
